Q: I was wondering how old you have to be to become a volunteer. I’m only 16 but I’m wanting to make firefighting my career. I thought I might as well start as soon as possible. so if anybody knows or has any idea let me know.
A: You’ll need to join an Explorer Post or a Junior’s program with a volunteer dept.
A: I am in the junior program in Fannett, TX and have been in it for the past 3 years so just go and talk to someone in the department and they will tell you what time and if there is some where other than the station they meet and when you show up they should give you all the paper work that you need to fill out.
