Description:

Located in the Town of Brookhaven on Long Island New York. Response Area is 27 square miles with a population of approx. 28000. We are first mutual aid responders to the Brookhaven National Lab. We have three stations, 4 class A engines, 1 93 foot Tower ladder, 3 ALS Ambulances, 2 small rescue trucks and 1 ful size heavy rescue truck.

The training requirements are minimal, with out having proper training things get difficult. Our offers don't have to have any leadership or command training to be an officer. Just Fire Fighter 1 and years in the department.

Advice for prospective applicants:

Look past what is lacking and look at the members and what they are capable of. There is alot of members that look and get training on their own inorder to be better fire fighters and to help their fellow members.
