Personal

About Me:
My true field is currently Emergency Management. However, I have a background as a Volunteer Fire Fighter and EMT-Basic in a small district up in the beautiful Washington State. This was of course the Lewis County Volunteer Fire Protection District #13 - Boistfort Valley.

I hold a General Class Amateur Radio License which has opened a lot of doors for me including, my involvement with A.R.E.S. and R.A.C.E.S. If I hadn't become involved in Amateur Radio I would never have had the interest in volunteering with the Lewis County Sheriff's Office Search and Rescue Team and never would have met Gene Sieber (one of the greatest minds in SAR). He first gave me the bug to be an Incident Commander.

Later down the road I became involved the Red Cross where I worked as a Health and Safety Director, volunteered with the Civil Air Patrol (still trying to understand what they do) and started studying for my Emergency Medical Technician - Basic. I am technically in grace period as my certification expired at the end of August 07.

I am hoping to get a more permanent position in Emergency Management real soon and then I will recertify as a Texas EMT and hopefully get to attend Fire Academy.
