I have been in the fire service for 15 years, 11 years with Spring Valley Fire Dept. (current) active as a Firefighter, Rookie Officer and Fire Prevention Chairman and Ladd Fire Department for 4 years (between time with Spring Valley). 3 years with Lemont Refinery Fire Department and 5 years with Chicgoland Speedway Fire / Rescue.     Ladies & gentlemen, boys & girls, children of all ages! It's the most wonderful time of the year... while the Christmas spirit has no doubt begun to fill us all, this time of year means it's time to keep our gurad up. Heaters are firing up, space heaters are being pulled out, smoke detectors need to be checked & our bodies are going to be hit hard by the cold weather. Take a few extra seconds each day to take in a deep breath, thank the good Lord for it & be strong for those around us that we are called upon to keep out of harms way! Merry Christmas & stay safe!
