- My name is Cameron Price and currently I live in the small town of Loomis, Ca. I am just now getting extremely motivated to get into the fire service. I currently work as a Barista at Starbucks Coffee and everyday I see tons of local fire fighters come in, and many, well most, have been major influences and supporters. Good luck with your classes. March will seem like it is forever away.
Have you had any courses to prepare you for the EMT class? Is it through a collage or through a different agency (my hubby is taking it from MMR locally.)
If you get a chance, familiarize yourself with anatomy and physiology before your class.
You don't need to purchase a book as they can get costly, but there are clipboards with the necessary information on them
(through medical scrub companies like uniformcity.com under accessories)
or Quick Stucy Outlines/Guides
(I've found them at places like K-Mart and Barnes and Nobble book store)
that can be purchased for relatively cheap that would help you to get more familiar.
Or maybe you can find one of the online sites that will go over it for free, I can't think of them just now, but if I do I will be sure to let you know.
