About Me:
I am a volunteer firefighter for the Ladonia Volunteer Fire Department. I am well on my way to working out of Rookie status. I am very open-minded and look up to the officer's of the department. They have lots of knowledge, experience & are willing to teach those who are willing to learn. I take every moment I spend with the fire department and turn it into a learning experience. I love what I do and hoping that I can make it a career someday. I am in school Fire Fighter 1 & 2 and just finished my first responder portion. I still have a long ways to go, but I know I will get there. I work very part time from home now, so I could be there for my kids during the summer. I have a 10 yr old - Aaron who loves being at the fire house with us, 7-yr old Matthew, 4-yr old David and 1yr old Caleb; who is now walking and tearing up my house LOL. I have all boys and NO plans for any girls.... I have been blessed to have healthy kids and being the only female in the house doesn't bother me a bit. Other than that I am very active and love to spend time my family.

    I took my first responder exam today and I passed with an 88%. I am happy that I passed my exam but I didn't reach my goal of 90%. Slightly disappointed that I didn't meet my goal that I set for myself. Ohh well....better luck next time when I go for my EMT-B.

    I went to Crawford VFD for training tonight, and something amazing happened. I faced my fear and conquered it. This was my second training burn and this time it went very well. I went into the burn building with an officer, he ignited the pallet and we watched the fire build. Then I went in with an attack the first time, then went in the second time to actually put the fire out. I feel very accomplished and proud of myself for facing my fear and conquering it. I still have a lot to learn but I am headed in the right direction. Thanks Crawford!!
