Pa. Volunteer Charged with Arson

POMEROY, PA – A 24-year-old volunteer firefighter was charged yesterday with setting two fires earlier this month, one of which occurred while a 90-year-old man was in the residence, state police said.
Robert Tribbett Jr., of Pomeroy, a volunteer with the Pomeroy Fire Company, was charged last week with attempted arson at an occupied residence on Aug. 8, police said. DNA from an incendiary device found at that crime scene led police to Tribbett, who admitted setting two sheds on fire on Valley Road and starting the blaze at the 90-year-old man’s Wallace Avenue home, the criminal complaint said.
Police said investigators determined that 11 fires, nine of which involved occupied structures, were deliberately set in Sadsbury Township in July and August. An investigation is continuing, police said.
Tribbett, who was on probation for a 2005 driving-under-the-influence conviction, was committed to Chester County Prison on Friday after failing to post $50,000 cash bail, court records showed.

it's guys like these that give volunteers a bad name, I hope they throw the book at him. There was a couple guys from a neiboring dept. that did the same thing about 15 years ago and their dept. still has a bad name from it.

Rot in jail is right. I'm a PA firefighter and he is making a very bad impression of my great state. No words can say how disgusted I am with him setting fires like that. I thought we watched out for each other not embarrassed each other.
