Meets latest specs N.F.P.A. 1971 (current ed.). The Ultimate Carbon Shield N.F.P.A. Fire Hood is composed of two layers throughout. It covers the chest, shoulders and shoulder blades. Elastic in the face opening is serged and reinforced with a bottom cover-stitch. All seams sewn with 100% Nomex® thread.

    Comfortable and better coverage than most other hoods. Face opening better accomidates SCBA mask than most I've used.

    I have only had limited opportunity to wear this hood during fires, but I have found it to be somewhat cooler and more "protective" than the tan colored PBI hoods which are very good. So I would rate this hood very high as additional protection with the helmet liner...

    I have been burned, twice before hoods came to be. I like this hood and I keep 2 in my helmet.

    great hood doesnt ride up and come out of your gear.
