| Description: | 3,500 gallon vacuum service tanker, with a 3,500 gallon folding tank |
Fire hydrants are not always convenient. It is very difficult to find a hydrant in rural areas like ours. Our tactics in water delivery has made us train on retrieving water from various water sources such as ponds, lakes, creeks, and pools. The drafting system on engines is complicated and can get confusing for people that may not be great pump operators but will find there selves having to do the job in a volunteer fire department. With our Water Master, the steps were easy for our new members and inexperienced members to learn how to draft and deliver water. The Water Master works with a Vacuum that never has to be primed, that’s right, never. The steps are as easy as 1, 2, and 3. With the vacuum system from a drafting source we can fill two and half minutes. We have also practiced and are able to fill the 3,500 gallon tank in about 75 seconds. In two occasions when we where short handed, we pulled bystanders who where passing by that where on a fire department from another area to monitor the Water Master. The controls are that simple. Due to our budget, we where not able to purchase a discharge pump when we bought our Water Master, but we have discussed putting one on it later. The design of the tank and cab allows us to go back and have a pump installed without major modifications to the apparatus. I can tell you enough about the ability this truck has to make a difference in a community. The all aluminum tank will also allow us to clean it with just house hold bleach and would allow us to deliver drinking water in natural disaster situation. Our Water Master has been so impressive that it’s not only the tanker for just our town but is mutual aid for three counties and The University of the South, (Sewanee University). The Weir VFD in Texas got one and boy is this a great tanker! It will haul some water PDQ! It drafts and dumps very fast! I love it!
We have one of these sitting on an International chassis. It is a very good piece of equidpment. We are in a rural area in a lake resort town. This tanker comes in very handy to fill from lake if needed. It played a key role in getting our ISO rating lowered during our recent ISO testing.
This is what we need.
love to see one in our fleet
Beautiful Apparatus!
nice lookin ride
AWSOME!!!!!!!!
I cant ask for a better truck , but maybe I can ,Hahaha, anyway , having 3500 gals. of water in far better than 2000 gal tanker any day , I came from a Dept. with 4200 gal tanker to a 2000 tanker , wish we had the money for this . Oh well that s life.
The turck would have time and cut down on haven a truck sitting when it could be used somewhere sles. The department that I am on is getting one and we don't have many sources of water in town but we do you rivers. I think that aby department would be happy to have town or maybe even five in there truck lineup.
