It was a few editions ago, but the Essentials got me through the fire academy. Good books.

We have been using this series for the last 12 years in our training center. We have a 98% passing average on the state tests.

I just got the 5th edition, and it looks good. Seems like there are more illistrations. Visuals are great teaching tools

The more pictures that are used works for me. it holds attention.

We got the whole set. A lot of updated info including NIMS. The FF 1 & 2 Skills Handbook is an excellent addition. Still reading, so far so good!!

THE BIBLE OF FIRE SERVICE

The State of NC uses this book for its Fire Cert. Program and I use it to teach out of, One of the best things is for Instructors to get the Power point program to go along with the book. I use it more than i use the States power point program and the students can see what your telling them them better in the illistrations. Great product

its the start of it all

This book is soooo much better than the previous 4 editions, much more comprehensive & of course very up to date with information (much more than the 4th) as well as the formatting of the book and pictures - definately speaks to the younger firefighters...I have already been teaching from this book, I do NOT like the instructors power point - the notes read right off the power point, thank goodness we have the ability to modify the presentation.
