I use the 1010 with a face shield as well. I really like this helmet. It is comfortable for as long as you need to wear it. I have worn other helmets. So far, this is my favorite.

We switched the entire department over to these helmets and they have proven to work great. The troops really like them.

We have the 1010Deluxe Defender. it has integrated goggles built inside. You know how it is, gotta "one up" the neighbors. I like the ability of not ruining a pair of goggles on top of the helmet.

Great product! Sits just in the right place on your head. Quick and easy to adjust the headband when you need it a bit larger for the SCBA mask. We only use the standard shield and not the Bourke, but that's very minor. The only thing I wish it had was a little more padding around the headband for those long calls.

The 1010 has held up to every beating I've thrown at it, and I love that it's a carved eagle for the front holder instead of one of those painted ones. My first 1010 lasted seven years until it's forced retirement. When I contacted them about the damage to it, they were impressed at it's life span, and how well used the helmet was, got a discount on my next one.

The helmet itself is incredible! Very Comfortable although a little heavy on a long incident. Many people don't realize this but the Bourke flip-down eyeshields are not NFPA approved and therefore are not rated as being a safety shield. Also if you have ever used the goggles for any length of time, you'll know that they always fog up. Many of the Paid staff at my department chose to remove the goggles and depend on other forms of safety glasses or shields. I of course went one extreme further and bought the Cairns/MSA Defender retractable visor upgrade. It works wonderfully. The retractable shield is ANSI compliant and is approved by the NFPA. The package is a full shell replacement and has a more comfortable sweat band inside instead of the leather band that is provided with the standard Cairns 1010 helmet. Caution, the visor upgrade will require drilling.

I have this helmet and it works great, same set-up. Kinda heavy when worn for long calls but I can handle for the comfort.

I have the newer version of this helmet. It's great the reflectors stay on and don't come off like older helmets I have owned.

The eagle really rocks! Also interesting that the closeup says "Roswell," for all the UFO fans.

The 1010 is a good helmet, even thought the weight is a little heavier than I'm used too. I do like the helmet's stability under fire.

I wear the 1010's big brother, the 1044. Paint is the only difference, and I say with confidence this is one of the best helmets.

Good helmet. Light enough to be managable, but sturdy enough to handle the job.

I have used this helmet for the last 15 years and never had need to get another helmet. Its durable, lightweight, and comfortable. It easily adjusts to your head with the easily adjustable ratchet strap. I highly recommend these helmets to anyone.

this helmet is lighter than the competitors helmets, and the color does not fade under high heat conditions. It is also comfortable to wear on long incidents

This is a very good helmet, I used the 1010 before I went out and bought a 1044 for myself, and nothing against the 1010, but I don't think they fit well when you have a mask on. Especially a MSA mask. They work great with SCOTT but not MSA. Overall a good helmet! Two Thumbs Up!!!
