I really want some Globe Magnum Fire Boots, but I don't know where to get them. I got a lot of my other gear from www.chiefsupply.com but they don't have any Globe's there. Anyone know where? I live in Cleveland if that helps any.

Well, I've never worn boots like that before, but I normally wear a size 8 in womans, or a 7 or 6 in guys.

Hmm I new to all this, so I don't know which to get. The stuff that I've already gotten (gloves and glove straps, hood, weight jacket for training....) was a little on the pricier side. I figure if your going to spend money on something, you might as well get one that will last, works good, is safe, and looks good. So you think the black diamonds will work good?

http://www.bergeronprotectiveclothing.com/

They carry exclusively Globe and Cairns (owned by Globe) gear, so it should have the boots you want.

Sorry, it's late, been up since four, not really coherent in my train of thought right now

Pro Warringtons are the best leather boots there is, but they run about $275. You might try clicking on GEAR at the top, and then looking in the boots section. I would suggest you get the cheap rubber ones with steel sole and toe for now. You can always upgrade.

I like my Haix leather boots... Try www.thefirestore.com for a decent selection of different boots. If you are just training, I would go cheap because they will get beat up.

If you are going through the academy use rubber boot, cause you will be on your toes a lot. you will wear out a good pair of leathers very quickly. After you get out, then go get you a pair of Globe. That is the most comfortable boot on the market. You can stay in them all day and your feet and back wont know it. They are costly but well worth the money.

I always use Thorogood boots. I think they're great, a lot of people I know that use the Black Diamonds have found that they wear out a lot quicker than the Thorogoods. I've heard nothing but good things so far about the new Globe leathers. I go through www.thefirestore.com for all of my purchases, I've never had an issue with them.

Well I think I want to go with either Globe or Black Diamond for my good ones, but what are a decent cheap rubber kind to go with for the academy and once I get hired on somewhere?

Doesn't answer this question, but I have used Warrington Pro and Black Diamond. I don't like one better than the other.

Agreed, Begeron is the place to get the Globe boots. I love mine. I triedthe Black Diamonds, Pro Worthington and, a few others. hese seemed to fit me the best. Now I have the Tech Series also...definitly find a place that will let you try them on as they all fit differently. Happy huntin'

I used my Globes through the fire academy but, purchased the slip on protectors. At $15.00 they lasted the whole 3 months. Well worth the money and the comfort of NOT wearing rubber boots.

I don't think that I would waste my money on rubbers for class. The first time you put the leathers on you'll never want to put a pair of rubbers on again. I would just use the leathers.

You know, that's 100% correct.

I didn't know they made those. That's pretty cool. I'll definitely have to look into that! I bought this really awesome pouch of ebay the other day, a fellow fireman made it to keep all his tools in it and keep it in his turn-outs, its made of old hose...it's really cool.
