Any Advice for Dispatch Newbie?
Posted 10 months ago I have an interview on Tuesday for the Dispatch position for Careplus Ambulance. It's a private company (in fact you can look for the website online) that specializes in ambulance services. I looked at the other posts on here about practicing "multitasking" and all. (In fact I'm fairly good at it when Silver isn't trying to drag me in a bear hug to the floor.) I was wondering if anybody had any advice on what to expect and/or things to know for a Dispatch position. I've applied for quite a bit of FT jobs recently and have been vastly disappointed but I'm excited about this one so any and all advice would be GREATLY appreciated! I really want to land this job! |

| Posted 10 months ago Thanks for the advice. I went in for my interview and I did well. The Dispatcher said he was going to give his higher ups a recomendation for me. He was impressed. He asked me what I would take care of in this situation : I'm on the phone with somebody who wants to set up an appointment for wheel chair service, an ambulance calls on the two-way, and somebody walks into the office and approaches the front desk. Who do I take care of first? I'm honestly interested in what answers you guys post before I post what I said in response. He was pleased with me :) |

| Posted 9 months ago Mmmm good advice I'd say but I asked the dude if the ambulance had an emergency or if they were ok to wait a moment :) I win! But no, really, he was impressed with me so I hope to get a second interview... I hope I hope! |
