Come one, come all to the Municipal Fire School at Texas A&M in College Station, Texas. It will be the last week of July and is one of the premier fire schools in the country

Everyone meet Sunday evening, July 20th, 19:00 at the Dixie Chicken?

If you get the chance, go to the Expo at Reed Arena on Sunday afternoon. Dozens of fire apparatus from all the major manufacturers plus many of the smaller companies will be there. In addition, the major equipment reps will be there with all the latest toys and there's always several t-shirt and novelty vendors there.

I love going to the Expo....always some GREAT eye candy there.......most of them way out of my little volunteer departments price range but it's nice to dream.

Dixie Chicken....1900...on the 20th? Sounds like a plan to me.

Unless one of the vendors (Casco maybe?) is still doing the fishfry at the Hall of Fame (Shame for some), then we can meet there. Though that place is a little loud for my tastes, but it's hard to argue with $2 pitchers.

Hmmmm.....pick a place and I'll be there. I like the atmosphere of the Chicken...but $2.00 pitchers are hard to argue with. A long as you don't say the dirty sock.......

Everyone should have already heard this, but in case someone hasn't:

If you're staying in a hotel, you need to make reservations NOW!!! In fact, it may be too late already. There's a lot of things going on in College Station that week and they expect the hotels to be at capacity. We've had our reservations since September.

I'll second the Chicken preference... Freebirds is right next door for awesome burritos.

TVFD will be sending at least two, maybe as many as six. In addition, around 10-12 go up on Sunday for the Expo and then we generally have dinner at Texas Roadhouse. Anyone that wants to join is welcome, even the guys from Clute ;-)

We'll be staying at the Comfort Suites.  Right now, we've got four rooms reserved, but it looks like we'll only be using three, so if someone wants the other, let the bidding begin!  Minimum bid is $100/night for a non-smoking suite with two queen beds.

My department generally sends several additional personnel up just for the apparatus and equipment expo, then we meet for dinner at Texas Roadhouse.  The four of us that are staying will meet ya'll at the Dixie Chicken after we finish dinner.

What is everyone taking this year?  One of my Captains and I are taking the ECA course, my Chief is taking the Class "A" Foam/CAFS course, and another firefighter is taking the Ag Rescue course.

From our dept. we have 1 taking the ECA course, 2 taking FF phase III & 1 has yet to decide, if he doesn't hurry up he won't get in at all.

We also meet @ the TX Roadhouse for dinner Sun. evening & 2 of us have decided to head to the Dixie Chicken after. We are all staying in the Dorms, so no bidding on the extra room.
