The tanker is 25 y.o. it should be replaced if you can afford it. The newer tankers are better baffled and a whole lot safer. Not to long ago there was the good article in FireHouse or Fire Tech magazines.

If you can afford the new tanker, go that route. As sandy said, the safety factor is immeasurable between the new tanks and the old.

tankers have changed so much in the last 10 years even............ there should be no question in that ..........go new if you can. If you use it in all three counties then try for a grant to help pay for some of it.

Another question to ask? Are you using it more as a water nursing unit or in tanker shuttles? for a nursing unit it would be a nice size to have. If you're dumping into a foldatank you want to try to get as close of a size to your other local area FD's.
