Posted 4 months ago I dont know how hard it is for anybody else, but it is like pulling teeth from a lion to get our trucks worked on. I know I from a small vol. fire dept. but I have to take a truck to Houston (2 hours away) to get the pump worked on. Not to mention the down time for the truck. |

| Posted 4 months ago hey reyman2610 i thank you for your reponse. I wish we had it the way your dept does it. I just got back from Houston (gotta love the traffic). The truck I took there is a city maintained truck. they take care of the motor and tires any thing else we have to get fixed. we also have some trucks that belong to the fire district and I have to say for the most part if they need work the district will right a check. |

| Posted 4 months ago all depending on the mechanical issue in central PA? Basic mechanical, we have a local diesel shop 7 miles west of the station, basic fire side of the rig, a traveling specialist. And anything major? 45 minute drive south to Harrisburg. We also have it good in the sense of 4 officers that have completely different backgrounds for mechanical abilities from electronics to electric to metal fabrication |

| Posted 4 months ago I'd say our department is pretty lucky too. We got a couple mechanics that are pretty good on the pumps. |
