Posted 2 months ago If you are having a busy day, I mean like one call after another; what would be the fastest way to make you something to eat... |

| Posted about 1 month ago Well....uhmmmmm Where do I start ? What's in your cupborads, the fridge, the freezer ??? What types of things do you like to eat ? Low cholestrol, healthy, heart smart ? On camp & dive weekends, I just tell everyone who is going, to bring 3 food items each. ( no matter what) I'm always designated to be the chef. I can make a gourmet meal out of 3 ingredients. LMAO I have driven by our local taco bell, & the fire truck was parked out front. To be very honest with you, it wouldn't be the 1st time, I ate macaroni & cheese with ham chunks & topped with seasoned croutons, or a bag of cookies & milk, or grilled cheese with a slice or 2 of lunchmeat in the center, a salad with everything in it but the kitchen sink. Please tell me more.

| Posted about 1 month ago My advice to you ..... get a crock pot... take your ribs & cut them into 2 or 3 sections, throw them in...put whatever spices you want in there to, along with your favorite barbecue sauce about 3/4s of the bottle. Put the crock on low & cook it all day on low, like 6-8 hrs....yummy My favorite would be Jack Daniels...but you can use any flavor you wish. Like baked potatoes....put the potato in the micro wave.... be sure to poke it a few times with the fork (or you'll be sorry) when its done cut in half scoop out the center.... add lots of cheese & bacon bits, onions etc. I try to bake it in the oven @ 350 degrees for about 6-8 minutes or til the cheese melts.... or put it back into the wave til your cheese melts. Enjoy that with chips & salsa, sour cream or what ever you like or have on hand @ that time. Need more than ask me... I do have a collection of over 350 cook books, some date back as far as 1930.... LOL |

| Posted about 1 month ago somewhere else on here we talked about quick recipes. i still like this one, if you have a skillet and a microwave. brown some hamburger, add a can of mushroom soup, and nuke some instant mashed potatoes. pour one on the other. tasty and will fill you up. add a little soy sauce, red wine, and freshly-cracked black pepper if ya wanna make it especially for me. otherwise, umm, anyone ever heard of sandwiches? |

| Posted about 1 month ago Quick and easy? How about PB&J ;) I tend to stay away from most of the fast foods. I have a kinda strict diet of nothing but grains and meat. Don't tolerate Fruits and Vegetables well so I cook meat and lots of it. Throw some whole grain bread in there and voila! I can cook though! I love my Grandmother's Betty Crocker Cookbook from the early days! Loaded with good home made foods. |

That would require a huge pot, a fire, and several other ingredients. Definitely not a quick meal. HA!!!! |

| Posted about 1 month ago I keep frozen meals in a bag (like Bertoli or Chicken Voila , just throw in a pan and heat it up! Or I keep Healthy Choice for us and Kid Cuizine for the kids. Salads in a bag are good too, with some Oscar Meyer pre-cooked Chicken strips and your favorite dressing.(if you like salads) Other than that I really don't have any quick and easy recipies. |

| Posted about 1 month ago Here's my favorite one, & it is always the first dish gone no matter where I take it. Cook your spaghetti noodles, put it into a large bowl, add 1 egg, & 1/4 cup of grated parmesean shaker cheese, & mix well. Brown your hamburg & drain well. add the hamburger to spaghetti sauce & whatever spices you want, I add extra garlic. put your spaghetti, egg, & cheese mixture into a pie plate. Pat down add a row of pepperoni ( I like using venison, or moose saussage) add the hamburg & sauce mix on top...... Top with tons of shredded cheese & a couple of bacon strips if you like. Bake at 350 degrees for about 20 - 25 minutes. If you use 1lb. of hamburg it will make 2 pies. Freeze one for later, or use the leftover hambur for home made tacos...... Voila SPAGHETTI PIE Ramen noodles are good, but becareful of the sodium content..... it contains twice as much as what you should intake. (sorry that's just the skater coming out of me) gwyd.... I'm with you... What's wrong with smoked turkey breast, bacon, lettuce, tomatoes & onions on a kaiser or hoagy bun. Reubens.... heat your griddle, put 2 slices of swiss cheese on each side, with 3 or 4 slices of corned beef.... i get mine shaved instead of sliced, add well drained saurkraut ,1000 island dressing, cook it.............. Welcome to fast easy cooking 101 gwyd do I need to give these people some Canadian cooking lessons & recipes ? Like the back bacon on a bun we talked about earlier???????

| Posted about 1 month ago my cholesterol and BP have always been a bit low, and i can eat anything and not lose my girlish figure, so go figure. sodium is not the bad actor we used to think it was in terms of blood pressure...12 years ago the boffins came out and said it wasn't but a minor contributor, and that the main culprit is lead, which we have in abundance here in the St. Louis area but also all over, not just in urban areas, either...that crumbling old farmhouse and barn are usually covered with paint that's up to 50% lead indoors and 80% outside. my recipe, though not all that much faster than your Bullwinkle one, is tamale pie. Ground beef, onions, green or red peppers, a can of corn, some taco seasoning, and green olives, all sauteed in a big skillet, then make up some cornbread dough, spread it on top about 2" thick, and bake it in the oven until the bread is done. sort of a mexican version of shepherd's pie. very tasty! a little salsa and a pitcher of margaritas and you have the makings of a great afternoon!!! |

| Posted about 1 month ago OK, margarita-hater, whiner, have some Dos Equis instead, since your a double-equivocator. Green olives RULE, but the others will do in a pinch while i pinch headset's headset...wow, the signal from Altair 6 is coming in clearly again! Dinner better be also fit for the Jack of Hearts (play Dylan song here for my entrance.) Bring your own dice and ice. I play craps well enough that you'll need the ice to cool the dice. While i'm always heads-up for headset (both heads), you must give the green olives in this recipe a chance...it's an insult not to TRUST THE CHEF!!! you'll thank me later, while we're sumptuously dining on flan for dessert and getting some elbow exercise tilting Gusano Rojo mescal or Remy Martin down our habañero-scorched throats. And by this time, the not-recovered-from-Cinco guests are getting up to no good in the bushes, the tree-house, and, "Hey, what the hell do ya think yer doin' over there under the umbrella?!? People can SEE you!" but by this time, most of the people who can see them are in the pool, thinking that the water can obscure their own paltry attempts at basic human contact. Chef & bartendress in the meantime have retired to the jacuzzi, knowing that the insurance policy will sort it all out. |
