In any case, like you, I started young at the Fire Dept and then left to join the military. Here I am 12 years later and I am in the Fire Dept again and loving it. I've been a mamber of this site for about a year and a half now. I've been able to learn alot of different things and from alot of different people, so go ahead and take advantage of this site. My name is Larry, I've been a volunteer for almost 20 years I'm Captain and T.O. of a small but fairly active Fire/ocean rescue department.I've been a member of this site for a good while, but haven't really utilized this aspect of it. It's cool that we can all swap ideas and experience. I've mainly used it to get articles to bring things to mind for my guys, how to stay safe, respond appropriately, etc.. Hey Andria, Welcome.
I guess I’m the old fart. I’m a Founding member of the site and literally grew up the firehouse. I’m 5th generation and have been serving for 32 years. 28 of them a medic also. I like this site, great bunch of people and they put me in my place when need be. (I can get a little “passionate” at times.) originally from NY and moved south 12 years ago. I encourage you to use the site and to be safe always.
