Are you asking about pagers? If so I like the BR802. I carry 2 pagers, 1 for fire and 1 for search and rescue. My 2nd is a Motorola Advisor Gold.. it's also a good pager.

Please tell me your title was a typo and not how you thought pager should be spelled!?

But to answer your question, I have the Minitor V by Motorola

My dept is a mix of Minitor II, IV and a few V.  I like my II because it comes in a lot clearer and in more places then the IV and V. I wouldn't mind getting a IV or V though because the vibrate feature would be nice for church.

We've had a lot of problems with Minitor Vs, particularly with the chargers.  Though we did have one dropped on a brush fire that had the case melted and it still worked.

We're currently trying out the Swissphone RE629 and have had good results.  We like the small size and the time stamp.  Price is less than the Vs.

My department uses Motorola Minitor V's and a few have portables. We've also had some problems with our chargers for the pagers as well. In fact, I have problems with mine. Half the time it won't charge, and sometimes it will just keep blinking red instead of a steady red light when I go to charge it. And you guys are lucky that your department has vibrate on your pagers. We don't, even with the Minitor V's.

You can go in and activate the vibrator (which can be fun to use....) through the software for controlling the little rascals.

I'd recommend that departments look at the new radios that have built in page functionality too. Much more useful.

Our department uses Motorola Minitor V's.  We have little problems with them though I hear that there are a lot of problems with them.  I think no matter what we use, there will always be something wrong with them.

Like KD7CAO has said, the vibrate feature can be activated via software.  When we bought our pagers, we also bought the programming cradle and software.  "C" on our Vs are what I call "church mode," in that it only vibrates and you have to hit the replay button to hear the dispatch.  This is great for church or other formal functions where you don't want the pager going off.  You can quickly walk outside and hit the replay button without disturbing everyone else.

There's also a feature where the alert tones (the really fast beep, beep, beep) can be kept at full volume, no matter what the volume of the pager is set to, which is helpful for those firefighters that constantly miss calls because their SOs turned the pager down.

If you've been having problems with the chargers, contact Motorola and they'll replace them.  They had a recall on most of the chargers, particularly the amplified version.

I don't know if my department would go for that. And what do you mean the replay button?

The Minitor 3's and 4's (and I think the 2's as well) have a record option.  On top of the volume knob there is a pushbutton that will replay the call.  Records for 10 seconds I believe...............

Guys having problems with Minitor V's.  I talked to our tech repair guy last week about mine not charging right.  He said to take an old toothbrush  (I guess you could use a good one if your not picky).  Take out the battery and brush the holes with the small contacts.  So far it worked on mine.
