Posted about 1 month ago I WAS WONDERING IF ANYONE ELSE FEELS THE RUN LOAD FOR A SMALL DEPARTMENT IS ANY DIFFERENT FROM A SINGLE STATION AT A LARGER DEPT. FOR MY CITY I DONT THINK THERE IS MUCH DIFFERENCE IN THE RUN LOAD FROM THAT OF A SINGLE STATION IN A LARGER CITY. |

| Posted about 1 month ago The city i live in is approx 60,000 with 7 stations about to build number 8 and at 2 of the stations a day with 15 calls in a shift is not unheard and that is with other stations getting there back while they were on a call. |

| Posted about 1 month ago out department gets MAYBE a coubple hundred calls a year. if we didnt run ems as well, we probably would have no more than 30 - 40 calls. |

| Posted about 1 month ago My point isnt to bash larger departments. We all pull our own weight and per capita make our fair share of calls. Of course the larger the city the more calls but on smaller departments we due double and triple duty and sometimes even more on each and every call we respond to. |

| Posted about 1 month ago Small town with 1 dept. We run about 500-600 calls a year with very few fires (less than 15'ish) Mostly EMS calls. We can go days with out a call then have 3-4 in 1 day. |

| Posted about 1 month ago We had a total of 210 calls last year and as of now we stand at 84 so far this year. For a small Base I guess thats busy. |

| Posted about 1 month ago We run about 850 calls a year including medical. I manage to get to just under half of those. So we are in the 2 a day range. It's nice because i usually get to sleep all night. We're growing we have 2 subdivions bringing in 1900 homes and a new station. Life will change as we know it. |

| Posted about 1 month ago We roughly get about 125 calls a year. There are times when there are three a day, and then there are times we go two weeks without a call. Honestly, if we did not get any EMS calls, you could probably close the station. We hardly get any calls unless it is a chimney fire or a grass fire. It has been a while since the last real structure fire. Most of those calls are for mutual aid. |

| Posted about 1 month ago My department averages 300-400 fire calls, and 500-600 EMS calls a year. In the last month we have responded to 3 structures, 4 brush fires a car fire and numerous other "Alarm" type calls as well as MVA's. We cover a village with a population of roughly 6,000 and a "Town" of an additional 8-9000 with 4 engines, tanker, rescue, brush truck with 6-wheeler, EMS Gator, 95' Tower ladder, 2 ambulances and an ALS Flycar staffed with 4 new medics. Froogsey are you sure you dont live in Verona Ky. sounds just like us. we just went almost a week without a call and then from friday to monday we have had 9 calls. and let me tell you, when the shit hits the fan here it gets nasty. last winter we went the entire month of november with 2 calls. then the first week of December we got hit with two structure fires, 5 MVA's, including a fully loaded greyhound bus that ass ended a tractor trailor with a blown motor on the shoulder. 53 passengers. what a mess it was. then the same night a racing team overturned there rig, it burst in to flames the racing fuel was burning so hot we liked to never get that fire out. but any way about 800-850 calls a year.
