| Posted 4 months ago Hi,! i am BHolloway, and i have been involved in the industry for some 25 yrs. I am in fire engineering. That is what i do ,is deal with wild land fires. We basicly lay out the fire roads for the dept of the interior, and The U.S.Forestry Services. We try to make sure that all the roads give the services access to all areas of the land, and keep the roads as close to a source of water as possible. Which isn't always easy, but we do the best we can. When not working i try to relax as much as possible. Well i hoipe this is enough info for everyone to go on,so they understand a little moe about myself.!! |

| Posted 4 months ago Hello, everone. My name is Jeff and I'm addicted to.....oh, sorry. Wrong forum. In any case, I am currently in Edmonton, Alberta (Canada) but I am originally from The States. I haven't been here very long however I seriously doubt I will ever get used to the winters here. Walking outside when it's -40 actual temp in F with a wind chill that causes every trace of body heat to tell me that I'm on my own and that it will see me when I get back home is insane. Even the animals have enough sense to get the heck out of dodge. I found out about your website from Allison about a week ago. Looks like there are a pretty good group of people that hang out here so I figured I would register and get to know everyone. I am not in the fire service directly however I do have a high regard for the men and women that put their lives on the line to keep us out of harms way. Stay safe, everyone, Jeff www.edmontonfireradio.com - Broadcasting live audio from the Edmonton Fire Department |

| Posted 4 months ago Hey everyone, how ya'll doin'? My name is Blake, I'm in the "future" category, I'm heading to school for fire protection in the fall. I spent 4 years interning with the sheriff's office here, and got first responder certified in a public safety class where I finally saw the light of fire fighting. Otherwise, I currently work at a Ford dealership in the service department. In my free time I'm working on my truck, my demo-derby car, or spending time with my girlfriend, friends, and family... Anyways, I can't really remember how I found this site, but boy am I sure glad I did! Thanks!

| Posted 3 months ago Hello to all! Great to be on here, just as on PoliceLink! I work for the Natchitoches City Police Department but I am a great supporter for the local fire department and EMS. I've never had to fight a fire, or even see one in action on a house (and hope that I never do) but I have heard some stories from the locals that have said what hero's the fire department was to them or family members. I hope I don't get bashed for being in Law Enforcement and loving the Fire Department but I honestly do. I hope to make lots of friends here on FireLink! I know I've made a ton on PoliceLink and they have also been very helpful. Take care, everyone. And to our men (and women) dressed in the fire gear..stay safe, with much respect! *kisses* |

| Posted 3 months ago Hey, My name is kenneth. i'm new to this site and i'm hoping it will be a good tool to help me become a firefighter. I've always wanted to be a smokejumper.... from the age of 7 i new that i wanted to help people in need. Funny thing happened to me today. on my way home from work there was a three car pile up. my first instinct was to get out and help....the only other guy that got out of his car was another young guy training to be a firefighter. it hit me that i wasn't doing enough to get on a crew so i found this site. |

| Posted 3 months ago Hi all, I'm Joe and I'm addicted to EMS. I tripped on this site yesterday and am hooked. I just became a volunteer EMT with my town and I might be looking at doing this for a living. I think I might have figured out what I want to do when I grow up(I'm 40). So I hope to add to this comunity as well as learn a thing or two (Love the quiz). So thank you in advance, and stay safe. As soon as an EMS Rule is accepted as absolute, an exception to that Rule will immediately occur.

I'm married and have the 2 most beautiful little girls in the world, I'm just a little partial. I live in Texas, for now anyway, who knows where Uncle Sam will send us. I started nursing school way back when in 94, and dropped out to get married and start a family. I don't regret my family but sure wish I would have finished school. For as far back as I can remember I've wanted to be a nurse. Well, I started going back to school online to get my basic stuff out of the way, when......this is where my story gets weird.......a boyfriend from high school found me on myspace. Yes we talk and the hubby and him are friends and me and his wife are friends, weird situation, but good peeps. The point to all of that, he's been a medic for 10 years now, and on a trip down to see them, I got to ride out with him all day. I was so impressed with how his whole attitude changes in the blink of an eye and what an awesome medic he is. From that moment on, my lifelong goal changed from just a nurse to a flight nurse......if I make it that long, cause the first life I helped save in the back of a truck, I was completely and 100% in love with EMS. Now I can't get enough! I got my NREMT-B and am doing clinicals so I can test for Intermediate, Paramedic class starts in August and I can't WAIT!! LOL Long story, I know. But I'm here because a great friend sent me an invite and I have met some very cool people on here in just the short amount of time I've been on! I hope to make new friends that share my love of EMS and I know this is a very good place for that! I hope everyone stays safe, and I'm glad to be here! OK, novel is officially over, LOL
