A downed firefighter
Posted 2 months ago I am not a member of a RIT / FAST team so I have never had to rescue a downed firefighter. My question is, when there is a mayday called and the RIT / FAST team goes in to find a fellow firefighter, is it just that team that goes in or do they send in a team with a hose in case there is fire where they find the firefighter? I could have taken FAST team training a week ago but I wanted to get some experience in before I took that class. |

| Posted 2 months ago Our RIT always has an attack line, or another team with a charged line follows them in. But, like most of the other volunteer departments, we are lucky sometimes to have a full interior team. Much less a RIT. Manpower is always an issue.
Sign up for the FAST training. Stuff like that always changes the point of view a little. The largest room is the room for self improvement |

| Posted 2 months ago We are all volunteer at my dept and sometimes we don't have a full truck. We have 2 other depts in our run cards for that reason. With Airway Heights they come as a RIT team to us and assist with the fire and we do the same for them. Works out really well. In answer to your question same as tsmith said. |
