| Posted 2 months ago yes, this is the most wonderful country in the world, in its ideals and founding principles, but those who are currently in power, namely president nincompoop have allowed america in its image and practices to stray from what made it great. not to say that it is not great now- i am more than proud to be an american, but at the same time it is this patriotism that makes me fear for this country's future. it is that same patriotism that makes me back the real patriot- the honorable senator barack obama. go to his website. read some of what independent media has to say. you'll get to like him. |

| Posted 2 months ago I think we all say stupid things sometimes when we are trying to make a point. And if I had to pick between, Clinton, Barrack and McCain , I would chose Barrack. But if we could vote at random for who we want I would vote for Colin Powell. A true American and Patriot of our country. |

| Posted about 1 month ago Thank you very much Grendel!!! You said exactly what I was thinking, I just didn't know how to put it into words!!! You know it's pretty bad when someone that wasn't even born or raised in the US notices that and thinks it's effed up!!! It pisses me off to no end that people will vote for someone without even researching what they stand for!!! Don't get me wrong, I am in NO WAY racist, but it is wrong to vote for someone just because they are black (or whatever race the person happends to be that is running) or a woman! If there was someone out there with my ideals I would have no problem voting for them if they were white, black, brown, yellow, orange, or purple!!! But please please please, do NOT vote for someone just because you think our country needs change and think a person of a different race or a woman will be a good change simply because they are that! No one can make you feel inferior without your consent. |

| Posted about 1 month ago dont worry Rose america isn't alone-----britain has had 8 years of a govt that has slowly sold the country down the river to a point where it is almost wrong to be british. seems to be that obama is the 1st step on the same path for america. |

Not to sound like some kind of an ass but this is America and you can vote for anyone you choose to with a write in ballot. If I had to choose today I'm 100% behind Elmer Fudd |

Barack Obama "Idiot Quote"-Fiction! <!--mstheme--> <!--mstheme-->Summary of the eRumor: A short email that says it contains the "idiot quote of the century" from Senator and presidential candidate Barack Obama. The quote is, "My friends, we live in the greatest nation in the history of the world. I hope you'll join with me as we try to change it."<!--mstheme--> <!--mstheme--><!--mstheme--> <!--mstheme-->The Truth: We have not found any occasion when Barack Obama has said or written this exact quote. The eRumor began circulating in June, 2008 during Obama's bid for the Democratic nomination for president of the United States. The thrust of Obama's campaign has been "change" in Washington D.C. so whoever created this hoax quotation thought it would be cute if he both described the nation as the best and, at the same time, said let's change it. Barack Obama was born in the United States and raised in Hawaii. People should take the time to learn about who Obama really is and not rely on false rumors and smear emails. He is an inspiration to all having been raised by his grandmother and of poor economic circumstances. He raised himself up and completed a brilliant scholastic career on academic scholarships and became President of the prestigious Harvard Law review. He worked as a civil rights attorney, is an expert in Constitutional Law and has fought for equal opportunity throughout his lifetime and in the United States senate. Compare yourself to him before you critisize. |

You left out a lot of things. Go ahead and tell us a little more about Mr. Obama. If you are going to be the critic and tell what the rest of us should do, tell the whole story. Mr. Obama is and excellent speaker. However, he seems to be a bit of an elitist if you ask me. Other than both of us being human, I don't see much to compare. The sad part is, they have managed to get the population so dumbed down over the last 20 years, that everyone will just sit back and watch it happen. Some may complain, but most will vote for him. As far as dumbing down, think about it. When gas was $1.00 a gallon, could you have ever imagined we would willingly pay $4.00 a gallon? Hell, I remember when a gallon of milk was .29 cents. The first time I quit smoking is when I got pissed because cigs went up to $1.00 a pack, now they're $4 - 5.00. I have a prediction for the future, and I haven't read beyond Grendels quote above on the page, so hopefully no one else put this. I predict: Obama will win the election. Hillary (or someone) will have him assassinated. This will trigger a large conflict with the Middle East, or at least another attack. OR: For those of you who follow the New World Order stuff, Dec 21, 2012 will be the end of the world, so it really doesn't matter anyway. Jeff Draper

You know, I've always wondered about the Dec 21, 2012 thing. I know that the Mayan calendar stops there. It's the end of a cycle. It has to do with the alignment of the planets, stars, moon, etc. Here's a thought. Make a list of numbers. Somewhere, you will stop and say "I'll come back and do more later". I think that's what the Mayans did....except there were none of them left to come back. Of course, with the way things are going, we might be better off. | Posted about 1 month ago I think iron valor was a little heated over a ff getting killed by a gun. Hmm And doc, you just agitated him more. I have a gun in my vehicle with the hope I never have to use it against my fellow man. Just the way it is. We have strict SOP's concerning weapons at the firehouse, you cant have one. If you wish to carry a gun, the sheriff will hire you. Iron valor, this may be your calling. Not sure who posted this but it made a lot of sense and is not verbatim, "How can you fight fire in front with a hose, and cover your rear with a gun?" The FF in MO was a freak occurence, I was pissed as well and wanted revenge too. But hey, the guy killed himself. If we were constant targets, the situation would be different. Unthinking idiot quotes happen when your mouth gets ahead of our brain and we are all guilty. Obama, McCain. Ooooo the great conspiracy. Obama is the great hope and McCain is just all we could find. Do something to change the situation if you dont like it. Politics- If you think you "know" whats going on, you have no clue. It sure as hell not "cut and dried". I'd love to vote for my president, but the constitution does not allow it. This is my fight. If you pay attention, you know what I am talking about. The other 70% of you? No comment. How do we live? Day by day sir. Day by day. |
