Posted 5 months ago OK. So I attended the Clandestine Lab Safety and Awareness class last week at GPSTC. Everyone was right. Excellent class. As we were looking through the pictures of the items used in making meth, I remembered seeing many of them on scenes where I've been over the last several years. I never even knew what was in front of me. I have started working on getting the class taught here in my county. Anyone who has not taken this class, or one like it, should sign up and attend. Time well spent. The largest room is the room for self improvement |

| Posted 5 months ago I wish we had more classes like that locally. I would never know if I was in a meth lab or not. Unless someone told me so. |

| Posted 5 months ago This was taught by our local S.O. and it is very informative. If we are called to a meth bust we engage the pump with our hand on the deck gun handle to cover the swat guys. Generally the bad guys are gone when we get there. Just the investigating officers. BEWARE!! THAT STUFF IS UNSTABLE AND WILL GO BOOM AT THE SLIGHTEST BUMP!!! Some are "safer" than others but the chemical mix WILL kill you without some airway protection. |

| Posted 3 months ago I don't think our local sheriff's office puts on a training like that. I wish they did. My tiny little brain is just starving for information like that. Any class I can take about anything dangerous that you can find on-scene, interests me. I just want to be the safest FF I can be, without being the "hotdog" if you know what I mean. |

| Posted 3 months ago i took this class a cape fear comm college the DEA taught this 1 we went over the stuff used to make meth how to aviod traps and what king of bombs druggies use to kill firefihters. they actually made a couple of bombs and blew them up for us to see its probably the best class i have ever taken ***** five stars if you don't like what I say use the big red X in the top right hand corner! |

The GBI put on a bomb class for us after a state trooper grabbed a bomb and run it into a field, sat it down and keyed up his radio and said "clear". LOL Any questions as to why we let them go first, ALWAYS! |

| Posted 3 months ago we dont have a hazmat team in our county but when we do have meth labs the fire dpet. is on the scene with the police. we have actually had a huge downfall in methlabs sense we tightened up with more rules and because everybody in our county is workin as a team |
