I have no problem with it. Sometimes an outside point of view is just what's needed to look at things from a different angle. Non FF's may not know what nozzle pattern works best on what type fire, but that doesn't mean some one doesn't know how to deal with co-worker's who don't get along.

The only real issue I have on that level is absolute non-firefighters giving ratings and opinions on apparatus and equipment they have never even touched, likely just for points. I believe no one should rate something unless they have used it, more than once.

well if no one minds as a non FF i'll give you my 10 cents. i've reviewed 1 product on here and thats only because i'd come accross something similar in my military days. that was the door stops which we used for holding doors slightly open during rapid building clearances. other than this i would not dream of giving a review of products i neither understand nor use. however i will say that as i am going to join the ranks at some point i am paying more attention to kit news info that is on here,other places and from my ff wife. having worn the turnout gear air tank and face mask etc i now understand it and would have no probs using it but i am in certainly in no position to review it,though i will say it is easier breathing through that than through the "gas mask" i used in anger in the 1st gulf war which had no air tank and your forced air in by normal breathing via a carbon filter. but the vision in your masks is better. anyway my apologies i digress non ff's can have valuble insights especially into the behaviour of our FF's which maybe something not seen by FF's.  ok sorry to have rambled you all take care stay safe and may your god protect you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
