Starting Pay - $24.14 to $26.98 hr depending on qualifications - Maximum Pay: $34.08 hr.



TriCom Central Dispatch, the public safety (9-1-1) communications center for St Charles, Geneva and Batavia, is seeking applicants for the full time position of Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD) System Administrator.  This position is responsible for managing, maintaining and operating all components of TriCom’s Motorola CAD system hardware and software, including interfaces.  This includes routine maintenance, keyboard entry of data, coordinating updates to the GIS database and map, troubleshooting problems and installing updates.



The CAD System Administrator will develop and maintain all CAD database files, including incident type codes, priority codes, emergency response area/beats, response plans and resource assignment tables.  Other responsibilities include researching and verifying city annexations, new streets and changes to response beat/zone areas; working with municipal GIS personnel to prepare periodic map updates; formulating database queries and designing reports to provide statistical analysis and department management reports; and meeting and coordinating with application software and computer hardware vendors to ensure continued operation and/or facilitate the procurement of new software and hardware.



Minimum qualifications for this position include a demonstrated knowledge of methods and principles of managing, maintaining, troubleshooting and upgrading a public safety CAD system; and a minimum of 4 years of multi-discipline (police, fire & EMS) public safety dispatch experience; or any combination of education; training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the essential functions of the job.



Previous experience with Microsoft and Motorola software and related applications, such as Crystal Reports, is ideal.
