I have a Radio Shack Pro 2067 multi trunking scanner.  I monitor local forest net, county fire, city fire, local Cal Fire, CHP, County S.O., and local state parks.  I also like to listen to several scanner web sites when I'm at work.

When in doubt fire out!!!!

Personally, my scanner days are over. I will run one in the house, just so i can hear what I must while the radio and pager are charging. Aside from that, my 800 radio has everything i need. We have very little on VHF any more. Everyone has converted.

I used to listen to everything under the Sun back when i drove a wrecker and we could chase wrecks. Now they are just annoying. But i'm getting old too i guess. Most of my life I had a scanner going somewhere. Not knocking them, just burned out on listening to it all.

I HAVE A UNIDEN BEARCAT SOMEWHERE IN THE HOUSE. MY WIFE WON'T LET ME LISTEN TO IT ANYMORE CAUSE I STILL GET THE URGE TO WANT TO RUN ALL THE CALLS I HEAR. I DO TURN MY PORTABLE ON WHEN I AM OUTSIDE AND SHE IS NOT AROUND. OUR DEPT IS IN THE PROCESS OF GOING TO NEW RADIOS. DOES THIS MEAN MY SCANNER WILL NO LONGER WORK??

Right now I just have my Vertex 150 handheld. It's currently got the Sherriff, 1 of our ambulance services, and all the repeaters for our Fire Depts, and Statewide EMS, and two NOAA channels so I pretty much can listen to just about everything.

I actually have several but the one that I listen to most often is a Radio Shack PRO-96 that we use to stream the Edmonton FD audio over the web. Here's a direct link if anyone wants to have a listen.

I have a couple of handhelds, one is a Radio shack (no idea of the number) and I have no idea what the other one is. Only problem is that the police and ambulance have gone to Airwaves (digital) so it's just the fire that I can get (not that I'm complaning).

Should bring one into the house as I have them both in the car just now, anyway, it's not really legal to listen in and totally illegal to use the info gained over here... guess I just have to stick it under the seat... ;)
