Elevator Rescue

Posted 5 months ago Just curious to hear who gets normally dispatched to an elevator rescue. My town has a separate fire dept and rescue squad. The protocol is to dispatch the FD but if certain people are dispatching they tend to send out rescue and not fire |

| Posted 5 months ago We only have something like......two elevators in our entire county. One of them happens to be at the high school. We get alarms from the elevator so often that we send the SRO to see if a real problem exists before anyone else goes. The largest room is the room for self improvement |

| Posted 4 months ago We have numerous elevators throughout my 4 cities; most, if not all, have 2 way communications and it rings into the 911 center. If there is someone on the other end that can confirm they are trapped we''ll send the FD. If there is no one on the other end we send PD first to confirm. They're not that common, but not that uncommon either. |

| Posted 4 months ago We have a couple of hotels and such with elevators. I know the city FD has responded to a couple of calls of people trapped in elevators. But it's not a common thing around here. Our FD and Rescue is together. "Hell, these are Marines. Men like them held Guadalcanal and took Iwo Jima. Bagdad ain't shit." "Some people spend an entire lifetime wondering if they made a difference in the world. But, the Marines don't have that problem." United States Marine Corps |
