I just finished the EMT Basic class and passed the final exam for the course (200 questions) and the State Practical exams (NREMT calls them Psychomotor Exams). Then, I took the NREMT national exam and passed that. Oregon requires NREMT for certification. Prior to that, I was certified in Oregon as a First Responder. Does that help, chase1?

Yep. I thought you were already EMT.  Texas also requires the NREMT. It may be a national standard now. It used to be optional way back when I first got my cert.

No,  was an Oregon First Responder before, a step (albeit a big one) below EMT-B. I got to drive the ambulance today!!!
