Posted 3 months ago it happed monday we had just finished a call and we where pushing the cot back to the ambulance and we passed a nest of BEE of some sort. him being in front pissed them off and me being in the back got swarmed. i ended up getting stung 3x. pissed that this happened he hured up loaded the cot and i went gabbed the jump box got out the bee sting swabs and so on. holding my tounge cause the little kids running wouldnt look good if i was cussing up a storm anyways. i hop in almost in tears he asked "are you alright do you need to go to the hospital?" and I stapped at him "just F***in drive im fine just get me back to the damn station!!!" not even a sec. later im starting to swell up at the site and looked like i had a softball under my arm. and the Atipical anaphylactic reaction stridor the hole 9 yards. so he stops flips the light on rans to brake out the epi pen and of corse being me and bull headed stuborn and all i didnt want it. just by chance our suporvisor was lissening to the radio that day and hears that our unit is in disstress so hes calling my partner. sup heres me choughing telling him "give her the epi give her the epi" hes all like "she doesnt want it im going to give it to her anyway tho just so you know" sup "oh let me talk to her you get it ready" so he hand me the phone i now cant even talk just shaking my head no " Rebecca take the epi we got 3 ambulance heading to your spot priority 1 take it. so i hang up on him he just looks at me and saids "do you want to do it or shale I do it for you " with this big ass grin on his face giving him the finger i try to say just do it! so he stabbed me in the leg and monatored me till another unit got there and drove to the hospital and sat in the hosp 5 hours after our shift was over with me till i was discharged. he saved my life that day and i love him for it he tells me everyday "Ill stab you agian if i have to cause i love you" I love you Derryl the sick dont get better by them selves, but they need us to get them started first! |

| Posted 3 months ago I'm told that I am just like you, I probably would have given a hard time about needing attention too. I just hope that when I am done with my classes I get a partner as good to me as your is to you. Glad that you are doing okay. Have you been tested by an allergist and started on some shots yet? I was just recently (last week) tested by an allergist to see how high of a dose I need to be treated with. In 5 years I could be allergy free and not have to carry an epi anymore. woohoo it was worth the inconvienance to have the testing done. If I had known 25 years ago that there was a cure for my allergies I would have jumped on it then and would have been allergy free for 20 years already. (luvmyff99) Mrs Tonia Jacob |

I'm glad your partner was there for you and loves you to the point of doing what had to be done... Doesn't pay to be stubborn all the time. LOL We make a Living by what we get.
