| Posted about 1 year ago I think almost all Fire Depts get about 60-80% medical calls, and the rest are fire related, but not necessarily fires. Jeff Draper

Posted about 1 year ago Our call types vary by season. In the summer, it's 60% medical and 40% burn complaints ;-) In the winter, it's 80% MVAs (we have a US Highway that runs through our district), 15% medical, 5% fire (chimney fires usually).

Posted about 1 year ago we get more EMS calls no matter the season but our Fire calls do increase during the summer because of dry hot climates

Posted about 1 year ago The majority of the calls that my department ran were medical. Being in south Louisiana with mild winters, the only things that changed were the types of medical calls we responded to.

Posted about 1 year ago My Department is smack in the middle of farm country and inside a town occupied by mostly elderly, we get mostly medical runs, in the spring right before planting starts we get a few field fires due to farmers "burning off" their fields

Posted about 1 year ago We only run medical 1st response when our Medic is coming from out of the area, which means we only run about 20% medical.

Posted about 1 year ago I have a police/fire scanner and listen the FD a lot. They get many many medical calls and probably one fire call a day which turns out to be very minute.

Posted about 1 year ago i would say that 80% of our calls are medical and 20% fire related......we area combo dept with two medics on duty out of three stations and a duty captain on duty

Posted about 1 year ago the last fire related call(dwellings/building/"Vehicles"/brush) was some time ago, and it was nothing more than a false alarm, so we get allot of "medical" related calls(MVAs/Assist the BLS/Highway Hazards), because of the highways that cut through the town.

Posted about 1 year ago Hands down 75-85% aid compaired to non aid calls. The vast majority of those call are bls and since we do our own tx ing we tx more than nessasary.

Posted 8 months ago firedeptone said: EMS is about 90% of our call volume. Mostly granny-go-boom-boom calls with transports...

| Posted 8 months ago Ours is about 75% medical and 25% fire. Out of the almost 1000 we ran last year, about 750 were EMS and 250 fire. Fires are up a bit this year tho because of the extremely dry conditions in the state. Ross Caston

Posted 8 months ago 100% fire or rescue for the time being. We have several first responders on our dept and we carry and AED. We are probably going to get into the rescue side soon One Shot. One Kill. Ready to die but never will!!!!! R.I.P. Chesty

Posted 8 months ago well...i dont know percentages, but we deffintly get a lot more ems calls than fire calls. just a rough guess...last month we ran about 30 EMS calls (if not more)...and we might have had 2 fire calls (not neccesarily a structure fire).

Posted 8 months ago My dept. doesn't run medical. Except for lift assists. We are a rural VFD and I believe we had around 70 calls last year. I think it is an even mix of fire and PI accidents

Posted 8 months ago My dept runs a BLS ambulance for a nieghboring dept as station 2. The medical calls are way more than the Fire related runs.

Posted 8 months ago we have an aging community so our medicals way outnumber our fire calls.

Posted 8 months ago Our medical and fire calls run about the same, most the time a little more medical fcalls.

Posted 7 months ago Of course 80-90% is medical. Our dept runs als ambulance also. It is really a tear between fire and ems. Kinda hard to plan for both. If we have min manning of 13 we run 6 buses so it leaves 3 on an engine 3 on a truck and 1 bc. Of course Ambulances jump over at the scene if they are not waiting to offload at the hospital..lol

Posted 7 months ago Medical defiently! Maybe a couple of fires and a shit load of medical runs! "Hell, these are Marines. Men like them held Guadalcanal and took Iwo Jima. Bagdad ain't shit." "Some people spend an entire lifetime wondering if they made a difference in the world. But, the Marines don't have that problem." United States Marine Corps
