Posted 2 months ago The company i belong to has in service a 1952 American LaFrance Hook and Ladder. The tractor had to be replace in the 1980's and the ladder has been updated to steel. It used to belong to Buffalo Fire Department. We bought it and it is still in service today. It's more for show and a toy but when we need it, it's there and it gets the job done. Another little fun fact about this unit. It is the only hook and latter in erie county ( western new york area ) that is still in service. So lets hear about what you have or have used. It's also a stick shift duel stick with no power anything and a gas motor with a top speed of 40 mph. it also gets 4mpg. |

| Posted 2 months ago The department I started on had a 1953 Oren pumper on a ford chassis, they sold it in 1981 and then bought it back just to have since it was their first engine. The strangest one I ran was a 1960 Dodge/American Lafrance pumper/tanker, had the hinged flip out fenders that folded out for access to the engine |

| Posted 2 months ago We have been training on and sending out 1956 green goddess's, not fast but once you get there they will pump all day. No power steering, but they were 4x4, 5.3ton empty. I love taking them to shows too, the kids haven't seen anything like them... |

| Posted 2 months ago My department has a 1966 GMC American LaFrance that was bought new from my Granddad's GMC dealership and it is still in service . It has a V6 with no power steering. Eventhough it is our oldest truck it is probaly the best pumping truck we have. Robert T. Garland Jr.
