Don't know what a Class C is. You need to provide more information for anyone to give you advice.

Not sure how a POCS would be a misdemeanor. In most states it would be a felony. It varies per department. Most will exclude you automatically for drug and DWI charges, mainly due to insurance. Misdemeanors usually aren't a big deal, but you sound like you have several?  You would just have to check with the department. Being on paid staff is alot more screened than volunteer usually.

Just be honest about it. And be honest with yourself. Are you gonna keep up with stupid, or are you gonna stay straight?  Bad publicity for the FD is a bad thing.

Say you get accepted, then you go and play with captain stupid at the hangout instead of Capt. Smith for training?  Think through the problem.

see on the pocs charge it was a class c misdenor because the drug involve was darvecet, it was my late girlfriend's pills she had put them in my glove compartment when she was riding with me to a job site, then from we both forgot all about it then when i got pulled over the police officer did a search and found them it was less than a gram, only three pills were in the bottle, but that was only in texas, i really want to become a fire fighter, but i'm starting to have some doubts about it now

I would agree with Paul. What is accepted and what is not can vary tremendously from department to department. You need to go to the Human Resources department or department itself to find out what they look at. They are the only ones who can tell you for sure. This includes volunteer departments also. The fire service is known for its firehouse lawyers and not all of the information they provide is good.  In our area, anything above a class c misdemeanor will keep you out of a paid department for a minimum of 3 years depending on the charge.  What you have done since the charge will also impact the time limit on consideration for employment. Anyone with a felony arrest/conviction will not even be considered. That is here in Texas and my be different there.

all i have to say is go for what you want regardless of what has happened to you in your past dont let anything stop you from pursuing your dreams. you may have obstacles to go through and maybe a little harder for you , but dont let that stop you...anything is possible....keep you mind focused on the prize
