Well we got dispatched to a Car that was on fire and the doors were locked. My partners and I were like why are they dispatching usto this because its a fire call not an EMS call so were thinkin there might be more to the call. We arrived on scene to a car fully engulfed in flames and maybe 10-15ft away we see a lady on the ground badly burned screaming "My kids were in the car" crying histerically. I almost about lost it, I looked at my partner and shook my head. I sucked up the tears and continued to help my partners. The lady driving the car hit another car head on at Highway speeds and a bystandered saw her car catch of fire he pulled her out through the window and saved her life. He suffered burns on his hands and lower arms. The lady  was intubated and life flighted. the guy who got hit had bilateral tib fib fractures and a pheunmothorax he was transported but later lifefighted from the hospital. After leaving the LZ we desided to go back to the scene and as we got there a random guy flagged us down and said that the kids were not in the car. We all looked at eachother thinking what the hell is going on. Well apparently she just dropped her kids off a couple of minutes before the MVA occured. Tell me there isnt any angels and I will laugh in your face lol. When I got home I gave my kids the biggest hugs and just held hem. It changed me into a person who is greatful to be blessed with eachday I get to spend with the ones I love, and made me realize there is a greater power out there.

Isn't crazy that it takes this kind of magnitude to realize how precious life is around us. It can be take away in seconds. Keep up the good work and remember that you maybe only a firefighter, paramedic, police officer.. But when comes down that we need each other for mutual support or to just be at their side. WE ARE ALWAYS HERE FOR EACH OTHER!!!  DOESN'T MATTER WHO YOU WORK FOR, WE ARE HERE FOR EACH OTHER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Wow!! That's amazing. Mine didn't have a happy ending. My Partner and I were called to an MVA on the freeway. Upon arrival we saw a truck facing traffic & a Taxi facing west on the Southbound on the freeway. Someone hit this truck, to where it disabled it. While the driver got out, the taxi hit this vehicle (going 85 mph) and obviously, the truck not going anywhere got FULL impact. The other two passengers, who were seat belted in, were ejected. A 26 y/o F 38 wks 2 dys pregnant & a 9 y/o M. We worked frantically to get the family, Nothing worked. We kept CPR going so they could get the baby out alive. The boy literally had no face. They declared both of them dead upon arrival at the hospital. The baby lives today. The driver who got out was so in shock, all he kept saying was that he got out to get the person's info and he took off.

I got home and I hugged my husband and didn't let go.
