| Posted 10 months ago Like the Cialis commercial says, "When the time is right...". Working out is something that you don't want to rush. You need enough time to do a proper warm up and almost more importantly a proper cool down. The warm up is important because it stretches out the muscles and limbers them up to accept the strain and constant use you will be putting on them. The cool down is important because it again stretches the muscles to help keep them from cramping and getting so darn sore. If your too sore, your less likely to return! During the workout it isn't a good thing to be rushed because that is when injuries happen, trying to do things to fast tends to give you sloppy form and lets things (whatever you may be working out with) get out of control. It's also a good idea to have a buddy to spot and to give encouragement. This person has to have the same desire to get to the gym as you do, if they start to slack, you might also... Another thing to remember, especially when starting, go for reps, not weight. Not at first anyway, get your body used to the exercise, then you can add weight after you get the correct form.. Like everything else in this field, safety, safety, safety!!!

| Posted 10 months ago In our line of work it is imperative you go to the gym all the time to maintain your stamina and to lessen your chance of getting injured. Not to mention it makes you feel better to be in shape. |

| Posted 9 months ago They say it takes two weeks to develop a habit. If you spend two weeks fitting workouts into your life, you will find that you won't have to think about whether it's "time" or anything like that. You will hit the gym like any other thing you do regularly that you enjoy. I have just started working out regularly again and have lost 15 pounds in about 3 weeks. I realized how much I missed working out! |

| Posted 3 months ago Working out is a great way to release stress. With our job releasing stress is a huge help in staying healthy, fit and a strong link in the fire service chain. I love to work out because I feel refreshed afterwards. I work out a minnimum 4 days a week. I clear my schedual with enough time to warm up, work out, cool down and refuel. I work out with 3 other people who have the same fitness drive as I do. We are always encouraging each other to be better, STAY SAFE and have fun. I also work at 24 Hour Fitness as a second job, so I have a lot of help from the Personal Trainers there too. The three bigest points in all this is. Work Out, Be Safe, HAVE FUN! Fun the work out that is best for you and makes you really want to work out. Not all your work outs have to be in an indoor GYM. Cycle, run, swim, row etc. Find your fun place to get in shape. |
